For Nathan and the team at Panorama Business + Financial, accounting was never meant to be just about tax returns and spreadsheets. It was about helping people sleep better at night. Helping business owners feel supported. Helping families build something sustainable for the future.
Founded in Bathurst in 2017, PB+F was born from a simple but powerful frustration: too many small business owners were being blindsided — by unexpected tax bills, confusing compliance requirements, and accounting relationships that felt transactional instead of supportive.
Having grown up around family businesses himself, Nathan understood the pressure many owners carry. He knew firsthand that behind every BAS statement or financial report is a person trying to provide for their family, employ local people, and build something meaningful.
So he set out to create something different.
A business partner that local businesses could genuinely rely on.
Today, Panorama Business + Financial works with micro and small businesses across the region, helping them navigate tax, compliance, business strategy and financial growth with confidence and clarity. But what truly sets the business apart isn’t just technical expertise — it’s the human approach behind it.
The PB+F team believes good accounting should remove stress, not create it. Their role is to simplify the complicated, remove surprises, and give business owners the confidence to focus on what they do best.
And they’ve built a culture around exactly that.
Over nearly a decade, PB+F has grown into a team of 11 passionate professionals who care deeply about the people they work with. Nathan says one of his proudest achievements isn’t growth itself — it’s the way his team leans in for their clients with empathy, care and genuine investment in their success.
That commitment became especially important during COVID-19.
Because the business had already prioritised clean, accurate and up-to-date financial data for clients, PB+F was able to respond rapidly when government support initiatives were introduced. The team worked tirelessly to help local businesses stay solvent and supported during one of the most uncertain periods many owners had ever faced.
For Nathan, moments like that reinforced exactly why the business exists.
Looking to the future.
While PB+F is firmly focused on the future — embracing new technology, smarter reporting systems and better business insights — its foundations remain deeply regional.
Nathan grew up in Bathurst and, despite travelling the world as a rugby referee, always felt drawn home.
“There’s something special about this region,” he says. “It’s a privilege to raise a family and run a business here.”
That connection to community runs through everything the business does. Beyond supporting hundreds of local businesses, Nathan has served on numerous community organisations, while the team regularly assists not-for-profits through discounted and pro bono compliance work.
But ask the team what matters most, and the answer is simple: helping local business owners thrive.
Because for PB+F, success isn’t measured only in numbers.
It’s measured in the confidence of a business owner who finally understands their finances. In the relief of removing uncertainty. In watching local people build businesses that support families, create jobs and strengthen the Bathurst community.
